This journal is closed indefinitely.
After recent events involving a bootleg mix-up, I just think its time to stop dealing with incredibly selfish children who don't seem to understand the concept of charity and good deeds.
I made a very small mistake, sending someone's bootlegs to someone else. Yes, it was my mistake, but I was doing something nice without asking for anything in return. I get 100s of emails day through bootleg lists and such. I can't be expected to find and respond to all of them.
To the two people in question, do not try to contact me again. That email account is closed, as is this journal. If you try to contact me, I will put out a bad trader notice on every board I can find.
I'm not trying to be mean or rude, but my biggest pet peeve is when people get angry with me when I'm doing something nice for them, complete strangers, without asking for anything.
It was my mistake, sending the wrong package out, but in the long run, what could have been solved in a week or two is now going to have ultimately screwed all parties --- since one person isn't going to get the very rare bootleg they've been looking for, another person has a bootleg they don't want and isn't getting the ones they do, and I'm out the postage, packaging, and time it took to get said package together and sent.
I detest inconsiderate people, especially strangers who don't know anything about my life.
I am in the middle of moving from Texas to New York. I'm very busy, very frazzled, and running very low on patience.
So this is it. No mas. I will never do another nice thing for anyone. Ever. I'm not trading again until I get settled in NY, and I will never make the mistake of being nice enough to send freebies to people.
Thank you very much for ruining something that I thoroughly enjoyed doing.

So, lets say I wanna install Sims 2 University on my laptop. I already have Sims 2 on here, and I legitmately own both it and Sims 2 University. However, I've lost the second disc for Sims 2 Uni, which isn't necessary to play the game, just to install it.
I have the key code, the first disc, and everything that came with it... but I don't have the friggin' second disc!
Does anyone know how I can get around this? A place to get a pirated copy of the second disc? Somewhere I could order a second disc from without buying the game all over again. Ten to fifteen dollars, I can afford; Thirty-something for a new game, I cannot.
I'm making big puppy eyes right now, in case you can't tell. :)
Please? Remember when I was a really nice person who sends/posts stuff to/for people all the time? (*feels cheap and weird for saying that* ... *is desperate and says it anyway*)
I have a very one track mind, and my brain won't stop obsessing over something until its solved. Like... I'll lose sleep. Haha...
...No, seriously. Ex. I really wanted to watch Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame the other day, so I went to three rental stores. Two didn't have it, and at the third, it was checked out. I went to Half Priced Books to buy a used copy. No luck. Best Buy? No, but they'll order it for me. I ended up coming home and having it overnighted to me from Amazon. Yes, I am that obsessive at times.
This will drive me nuts. Someone? Anyone? *stares at ever-present dialogue window - "Please insert disk number 2"*
EDIT: I am not asking any of you to buy it for me! If anyone decides to be a douche and do so, I will kick them... hard. I'm just asking for someone to help me find it.

See, here's the thing, some people just aren't worth the effort. Some people will always be dramatic times a thousand, and I'm really sick of it. I hate that someone I thought knew me inside and out would automatically assume I'm guilty without even talking to me.
I never said I was a good person. In fact, I've reiterated the fact that I'm a HUGE bitch over and over and over again. I've given many a sterling example.
Some people, I would try to mend things with. Some people are worth it.
And then there are those people who just aren't.
And the best part? It's as simple as blocking you from my buddy list, ignoring your text messages, and defriending you... and poof, you're gone. Its almost like you never existed, and suddenly, my life just got a lot less dramatic.
I seriously contemplated being mean and rude and telling you exactly what I really think of you... but like I said, some people just aren't worth my time.
I genuinely thought I'd be more upset about this. :)

(My favorite Are You Afraid of the Dark? episode is The Tale of the Lonely Ghost, and I just happened upon a SHITLOAD of screencaps from that episode. Apparently, the little girl that played the main character has a website and they did screencaps like... well... remember when I screencapped Palindromes? I admire the ability to make 10 minutes into 100+ pictures. *amused*)

STEP ONE
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
STEP TWO
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it. Once a wish has been granted, it will be crossed off my list.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
